DANC 2300R, Dance Partnering

Course Description
This is a basic partnering course. Dancers learn how to support or be supported in different types of partnering movements including sustained positions, turns, and lifts. Students who successfully complete this course will have a good knowledge of beginning partnering skills. Prerequisite: Dance 1100, 1200, 1500 or instructor permission.

Course Objectives

  1. Gain the fundamental skills that dancers need for partnering in ballet, modern, jazz, ballroom, and other dance genres.
  2. Learn partnering techniques to develop coordination, strength, and endurance.
  3. Develop the ability to work well with a dance partner.
  4. Experience and appreciate the artistry of partnering.
